This weekend, I attended America’s Beauty Show in Chicago. I’ve been to clothing trade shows and a car show, but this was my first time at a beauty show. And it was so cool. There were tons of beauty vendors from every category including hair, makeup, nails, and skincare. It was any girly girl’s dream. Not only did I get to check out new products from my favorite brands’ booths, but there was a whole section of discounted products. We’re talking bins of O.P.I. nail polish for $2 each. You bet I stocked up. Actually, I may have bought 54 bottles of China Glaze nail polish (one of my favorite nail brands) for $30. They’re for gift bags, I swear.
While I may have gotten out of hand in the nail polish section, I originally went to the show because Andis Company invited me to be one of their models. Andis is a leading tool manufacturer in the beauty industry. They specialize in clipper cutting and recently started making hair dryers as well. You might think of clippers being used for just men’s haircuts; I know I did. But it turns out, they’re actually great for cutting women’s hair as well. The clippers gave my layers a much softer texture than scissors ever have. Plus, they allow for a quicker haircut since they can cut through a lot more hair at once. I’m in love with my new hair!
Jessica uses a comb and clippers to trim my hair.
The final result
Thanks to Andis for having me and to my amazing hairstylist, Jessica!
