A new record… she stayed awake for nearly 14 hou

A new record… she stayed awake for nearly 14 hours yesterday with around 1 hour of total nap time. We are pretty sure we’re raising an extroverted baby.

Things I wish I had known as a first time mom…

Things I wish I had known as a first time mom…

1. The first 6 weeks of breastfeeding are the hardest. If you can get through 6 weeks, it gets much easier and stops being painful. It took me 12 weeks to finally increase my milk supply.

2. There are 20 different answers to any question you have. Trust your gut.

3. Breastfeeding can cause you to retain weight, instead of lose it.

4. You’ll need a whole new wardrobe of things that fit and are nursing friendly. If it doesn’t have buttons I’m not buying it. 😭

5. Pacifiers are a necessary evil.

6. Baby wearing is really hard when you’re recovering postpartum then your baby gets too heavy by the time you’ve recovered.

7. Everyone has heard of postpartum depression but postpartum anxiety and rage are also things.

8. It’s ok if you don’t want “a break” from your baby.

9. Nursing and pumping is a full time job. It’s 3-4 hours out of my day.

10. You need multiple strollers, car seats, and breast pumps. All of the stupid baby gadgets are helpful even if you hate clutter.

These are just my experiences. Every mom is different. 🤗

12 months later, we’re a family of 3. 😅 Happy anniversary! Thanks for putting up with my crazy postpartum hormones and changing all the 💩 diapers. There’s no one else I would rather “embrace the chaos” with. I promise I won’t make you do any more photoshoots for a while.
