It’s been a few months since I made the big move from Chicago to Milwaukee. (You can read all about why I moved here). I am 100% confident in my decision and so happy to be a homeowner. I still can’t believe I own this place!
I lived in a rundown studio apartment for three years in Chicago. And I didn’t realize just how small it was until I got setup in my new one bedroom condo. It had been so long since I had a separate bedroom and more than six inches of kitchen counter space. My new place feels like a palace.
I did treat myself a little bit when it came to furniture because first time homeowner and all. But everything came from either Amazon, Target, or Walmart because I’m saving most of my money to buy more properties.
This is my favorite corner of the condo. My ceilings are crazy high so I knew I wanted to get a giant full length mirror. It was my biggest splurge purchase. It was actually on sale at Walmart but still the single most expensive item I bought after moving because I’m cheap. It’s also the perfect setup for taking outfit selfies so tax write-off ya know?
I love my navy velvet couch. It flattens into a bed in case anyone wants to come visit. It was one of the few big pieces of furniture that I brought from Chicago. Unfortunately, the navy color is no longer available and I got it on sale for about half the price it is now but it’s still a great piece.
I’m so proud of my little gallery wall. I bought a drill and put up this acrylic floating shelf all by myself. The top left is a map of Milwaukee from a local shop near me and the middle is a vintage map of Paris.
My desk setup. I love that my workspace is in between the two big windows in my living room. I work from home so I need a space I love. I’ll probably invest in a more substantial desk at some point.
I love love love my kitchen. I’ve never had a bar before so I was excited to pick out bar stools. These gold ones were the only ones I liked that weren’t crazy expensive.
I’m not thrilled with the granite counter tops or cabinet colors. Repainting the cabinets white and switching out the hardware for gold is on my list of projects. But for now, I love cooking meals in such an open space. Also, I bought my very first knife set – adulting! I’m all about the rose gold and acrylic. Would you believe these are only $35 on Amazon and they work great?
There’s lots of extra space in the kitchen so I have this little bistro table set up here. I brought it from my Chicago apartment and I have yet to actually sit there because I really love eating at the bar.
Coffee station. I love my Nespresso.
Bedroom! My decor style is definitely super girly and glam. While I’m single and living alone, I don’t see why everything shouldn’t be gold or mirrored.
Here’s a peek inside my walk-in closet. I’ve never had a walk-in closet before and I feel like it’s every girl’s dream. I still can’t get over it.
I needed a vanity table because there’s not enough counter space in the bathroom. I actually love getting ready here. I chose this table because I love how it has slots on the side to keep hair tools untangled.
This is all you get to see of my bathroom for now because the rest of it is pretty outdated and I’m hoping to redo it at some point.
