What’s your wildest dream? Mine is to wear a new designer outfit every single day. I know – don’t judge. There’s just something so great about wearing something new. And, that great feeling goes away on the second wearing. It really does – you know I’m right! I discovered how to make my weird dream come true and it’s A LOT less expensive than you may think. Keep reading.
I had been wanting to sign up for Rent the Runway’s Unlimited subscription for a while and now I can’t believe I waited this long. After hearing my friend Jess give the service rave reviews, I decided to try it for myself. For just $159 a month, you get 3-4 designer items at a time. I get four because they invited me to be part of a beta program. That’s less money than I usually spend on clothes per month that I only wear a few times and then get rid of.
If you want to give it a try, use my code RTRALLIEB for $100 off your first two months ($50 off each month).
How does it work?
The best part is that you can choose to return one, two, or all of your items at a time, unlike other rental subscriptions that make you send all items back to get new ones. You can keep items as long as you want and even choose to purchase them at a discounted price.
RTR used to have mostly fancy dresses, but that’s no longer the case. They have tons of casual daytime dresses, like the one I’m wearing. There are also tops, bottoms, bags, and jewelry available with your Unlimited subscription. *The accessories in this post are my own.
Shop online or in-store.
Since starting Rent the Runway Unlimited, I’ve worn a new designer frock almost every day to work, events, and date nights. I’m lucky enough to live right down the street from the physical Rent the Runway store in Chicago. If you live near a store, you can return and get new items there. However, the selection online is much larger so that’s where I get most items.
Shipping is fast and always free, no matter how many times you send back items each month. Your items arrive on hangers in a garment bag. When you send them back, all you have to do is put them back in there, attach the provided shipping label, and voila.
Shopaholic Under Control
Rent the Runway Unlimited seems too good to be true, but it’s not! This is the answer to all of my problems. Well, at least to the main one of what the heck do I wear today? And it’s also curbing my shopping addiction. The Nordstrom sale is coming up and -guess what- I’m not going! Although, I’ll of course buy an occasional item that I fall I love with every now and again.
Another benefit – I have a lot less laundry to do!
In other news, my earrings are from Charming Charlie. They’re only $12 and come in tons of colors.

P.S. these amazing photos were taken by Krystal Boney – she’s so talented!
Full disclosure – I did include some affiliate links where I can make a small commission, but Rent the Runway did NOT pay me to write this post.
