You know that I would never wear sweats in public, but these (faux) leather babies are an exception. I’m always wearing jeans so leather pants are a fun and welcome change. And they’re SO comfy! I wore these all day and all night (it was my boyfriend’s birthday party) and I was so happy. I toned down the edginess of leather pants with a cozy, simple sweater and white boots for contrast.
I tend to wear darker colors in the winter. I’m not sure why. I think it’s just easier to match with my warm coats and boots. However, I like things that have fun details that stand out even when it’s freezing outside. I instantly fell in love with the puffy gingham sleeves on this comfy t-shirt. The gingham trend might be on its way out, but this top is still so fun. Embroidered boots are another fun trend this season.
I had to jump on this trend bandwagon because they’re just too cute to pass up. These patent leather ones are by Sam Edelman – no longer available unfortunately, but I’ve linked a bunch of similar and affordable styles at the end of this post. I love how they really brighten up an outfit in the winter. They’re edgy, but very wearable.
The holidays are officially here. It’s the season of holiday parties and events. There are so many occasions to dress up and have fun. I have my eye on tons of amazing dresses and this ruffled number is up first.
One of the season’s most fun new trends are jeans with pearl embellishments. For months, I had been searching high and low for the perfect pair.
It’s getting chilly here in Chicago which means it’s time to break out my favorite over the knee boots. I’ve been wearing these Stuart Weitzman babies for five seasons straight now! They are a bit of a splurge, but the classic style is well worth it. Nearly five years later, Stuart Weitzman still sells the same style. The quality is unmistakeable and they’re also very comfortable. I’ll love these boots until they wear out – which won’t be anytime soon.
When fall comes around, I always find myself dreaming about new shoes. The good news is there are SO many fun pairs this season that won’t break the bank, including the Skechers that I’m wearing. Yes, those are Skechers! Keep reading for full details on this look and shop the best ankle boots under $100 at the end of this post.
Fall can be a challenging season for footwear. It feels wrong to wear sandals or open-toed shoes, but is it too soon for boots? My favorite shoes to wear for fall are loafers and flats. And to answer the question — boots are totally appropriate, especially ankle booties. However, if it’s not cold enough yet for boots, loafers are the perfect solution. Chicago weather has trouble making up its mind during fall, so I don’t want to be too warm in boots.
I spent last weekend at PoshFest, which is Poshmark’s annual conference. This year, it was held in Chicago and I was fortunate to be invited as a guest of RXBar. I just recently made my first Poshmark sale (shop my Poshmark closet here), so I felt a little out of place amongst all of the amazing ladies who have sold tons of items and some who even re-sell clothes full-time. But, it was a fun and inspiring weekend nonetheless. Read on for details on this look.
