Spring is upon us! It’s that time of the year when I start getting tired of wearing darker shades and heavy layers. I’m sure your feeling ready for a change too. Transitional times are always tough to dress for – especially with Chicago’s wacky weather when it can be 60 degrees one day and 30 the next. I’m sharing three looks that I recently wore and felt were perfect for this time of the year. Read on for details.
Look 1: Polka dots on top
I love this polka dot top because of it’s airy quality – the slits on the sleeves make it feel lightweight and comfortable, yet still covered. You can’t tell in these photos, but there’s some metallic silver stripe detail in this top that make it even more fun. I kept it casual with distressed jeans and suede over-the-knee boots.
Look 2: Floral midi dress
I love dark floral prints during the winter. This dress is so easy to wear during any season. Here, I kept warm by layering it on top of my trustee black over-the-knee boots.
Look 3: Basics with fun details
My wardrobe staples consist of neutral, wear-with-anything pieces that have a little something extra to offer. This cropped sweatshirt by J.O.A. fit the bill. It looks great paired with high-waisted jeans or a skirt. These Madewell jeans are my new go-to. I love that they’re super high-waisted and have a fun button fly. They also come in three different lengths. Short-legged girls rejoice! Finally, these faux fur booties are the comfiest pair of boots I’ve ever owned – seriously. I bought them after seeing a friend wear them. They’re on sale for $50 on Amazon. Order a half size up as they run small. Replace your Uggs with this superiorly stylish option.
