This past Friday, I spent the morning at the Chicago Auto Show learning about Kia’s new cars for 2017. As a fashion blogger, the aesthetics of a car are very important to me. A car could have tons of cool features, but if it doesn’t look good, what’s the point? I was so surprised by how pretty these Kias were.
But, there’s a lot more to these cars than just what’s on the outside. These cars are fuel efficient and have incredibly advanced safety features. At the Kia panel, I learned that the company is going in a very green direction with their EcoDynamics line. Kia has made a $10 billion investment to build 11 new green cars by 2020. And, between now and 2030, they are moving towards a fully autonomous car. Because of that, these 2017 models have technology including automatic emergency braking, blind-spot detection, and park assist (which is necessary for people like me who suck at parking). Personally, I would much rather sit back and relax while the car does the driving for me.
This is the 2017 Kia Niro, which is a hybrid crossover. I love how “un-Prius” -as the panel put it- these eco-friendly cars look. Kia understands that there’s no reason why hybrid cars can’t look great. I would definitely drive one of these.
Love the pop of color on these seats. All of the car interiors at the Auto Show looked so expensive.
My favorite model is the Kia Sportage. I like the mid-size and sporty look of this crossover. The interior is spacious and comfortable. This would be the perfect car for driving to my blogger events and running errands around the city. There’s plenty of room to bring a few friends along and stash my purchases from shopping trips in the trunk. You can’t beat the price, plus all Kias come with a 10-year warranty.
I also learned that 40% of Kias are manufactured in the United States, providing well-paying jobs for thousands.
Trying on the #KiaSportage for size. This car is the perfect accessory for a busy lifestyle. I had a great first experience at the Auto Show.
